Science Night

The Bancroft Science Night was a huge success.  Children and their families conducted science experiments and bonded while learning!

Monday, April 30, 2018

Mrs. McDonough and Mrs. O’Connor’s classes made pictures and letters for children in the Rohingya refugee camps. Mrs. Nelson delivered them last week and they were much appreciated! They were touched to know that children in America think about them and care about them. The children made letters and cards in response to bring back to the Bancroft classes.

Thank you, Andover Police Department and Officer Dubois!

Our "Kindness Club" (a Learning Lab leb by Mrs. Torres and Mrs. Bogosian) invited Officer Dubois to Bancroft so they could share their appreciation for all the police officers in Andover do to keep us safe.  They gave them some "treats before they hit the streets!"

Making Sound!: Mrs. MacAllister's First Grade

As a culminating activity to the first half of our Sound and Light Science Unit, students in Mrs. MacAllister's first grade class went to the Maker's Studio to design and build a device that demonstrates how vibrating materials produce sound. Students then shared with classmates their sound producing creations making sure to use related science vocabulary!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today we had a VERY festive sing along with Brian Corcoran, an Irish singer whose own children went through Bancroft.  He has been singing for our students for over 15 years.  It is certainly a tradition here and the children were singing, clapping and making hand motions the entire time.  We also want to thank the Armstrong twins for having the courage to do some Irish step dancing as well!
