We Are Thankful

We were thankful today for some reading time with our buddies, a dance party and a kindergarten harvest feast. From our Bancroft family to yours, we are thankful for you!

Happy Kindness Day!

Today was Kindness Day and we celebrated it in many ways!  One class wrote about their pledges to be kind.  Here is an example:

I will be kind and spread joy to my friends and family
I will be inclusive.
I will help someone if they are in need
I will do my best to help the community and earth.

One class wrote kind compliments on each other's backs and the children got to read the notes of kindness from their friends.

Below is a photo of kindness feathers made in a fourth grade class. Students wrote an act of kindness that they have done or will do, and then colored the feather. The feathers from the grade 4 students will be taped together as wings that will be displayed in the hallway as wings of kindness. Grade 4 will display the feathered wings as inspiration to “Soar above Negativity”.

Bus Driver Appreciation

Today our fourth and fifth grade student council members helped us celebrate the hard work of our bus drivers. They have been hit especially hard, in our area, with detours and traffic. Thank you so much for all you do!!

Last week our fifth graders enjoyed this planetarium right in our own gym!
