Founder's Day

Congratulations to all of those celebrated at the Founder's Day event last week.  We value your dedication to the Andover Public Schools.   Many teachers from Bancroft were honored for 10-25 years of service.  Mrs. Touseau celebrated 30 years with APS and we honored the great Candace Hall, the Director of Human Resources, who received the Unsung Hero Award!

Kindergarten Play Day

Prior to vacation, our students in Kindergarten participated in a Day of Play.  They were able to travel between classrooms to build, play games and enjoy time outside.

Our Social Workers, Mrs. D. and Mrs. Modlish, did a fun lesson with the
students featuring Cookie Monster!

Happy Teacher Appreciation!

We appreciate the teachers at Bancroft School and we know you do too!  Thank you for the notes, cards and tokens of appreciation.  Every day we get the pleasure of working with our Bancroft students but it is nice to be recognized sometimes.  We hope the teachers felt the love today from those who truly appreciate them...their students!

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 sang a song to the teachers.

The children sang a tear jerker to the staff today titled, "You Have Made a Difference."

Thank you, PTO, for our new embroidered fleece vests and delicious lunch!

BGHL: Bancroft Gym Hockey League

Well, the BGHL is quite something.  Almost every morning, children in grade 5 fill the gymnasium with cheering, hockey and sportsmanship.  Every afternoon, Mr. Rex makes an announcement about all the plays, goals and efforts of the players from the morning.  This tradition is one that the students seem to LOVE and they leave each morning sweaty and smiling!

Acting Out!

Fourth graders in Mrs. Mallon's class acted out some fairy tales using reader's theater as a way to take risks, express themselves and bring text to life!
