Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The Bancroft School was full of spirit again today with a visit from Brian Corcoran.  He sang incredible Irish music and got all students singing and clapping.  We had Kindergarten students make leprechaun traps, second graders sharing Reader's Theater and many wearing A LOT OF GREEN!

Variety Show

WOW!  Thank you Amy Blanchette for organizing an amazing show tonight.  Congratulations to all of the children who took a risk and showed the world their talents.  It was obvious that we have some amazing singers, dancers, comedians, actors, musicians and comedians in our midst.  This was another example of the incredible dedication and effort of the families of Bancroft School.  Thank you to the spirited staff who performed and the K teachers for leading the Pledge Song.  I want to thank the Chair of the School Committee, Joel Blumstein for stopping in to see the show before the SC meeting, as he remembers his own daughter performing in the show with fond memories.  I am so proud to be part of this community.  Again, WOW!

Science Fair

We would like to thank Mr. Sweeney, the students and families who made this year's Science Fair a huge success!  We were so impressed with the knowledge our scientists had gained and were able to share as a result of their hard work.

Plum Island Pans

Today our students had a magical musical experience working with and listening to the Plum Island Pans.  Our third graders worked with the musicians in mini workshops learning a song as an ensemble.  At the end of the day, the whole school heard a concert starring the Plum Island Pans and our third graders.  Here is a link to their site:

Celebrating Dr. Seuss

Happy birthday, Dr, Seuss!  We had an assembly to celebrate this beloved author with a script written by two of our own students and performed by the library assistants.  They created their own costumes and must have practiced quite a bit because the performance was flawless!  We also had some staff and students who wore Dr. Seuss related costumes.  What a fun day!
